Illusion

Love was once an illusion
I never saw its deceit.
Chasing the false shadows
I ran everywhere
Tragic that I fell behind
In my mundane life.
Despair crept in
like an unwelcome guest
With him came
Tearful dark nights
And forever grey sunshine.
The folly was evident
After I was left alone

Truth struck me in the end

And I was shattered
Yet I fail to be vanquished.
